Job Title: IT Helpdesk Support - II Location: Millington, TN Contract Length: long term, 12 month initial contract with the potential to extend and/or convert permanent. Clearance Level: Candidates must be U.S. Citizens, and able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance as a condition of employment. Job Description: The day-to-day includes, but is not limited to:- Monitor a ticket tracking system for incoming break/fix incidents for laptops, desktops, and printers on site.
- Troubleshoot hardware failures, order and install replacements if necessary.
- Troubleshoot malfunctioning software installs and misbehaviors.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues alongside a dedicated networking team.
- Update and close tickets in a timely manner as dictated by SLR agreements.
- Communicate trending issues with peers and escalate when it's called for.
- Physically move printers and computers per customer specifications.
- Re-image systems with a thorough QA check afterwards.
- Backup and restore end user data.
- On a daily basis check in-house bulletin boards for emerging issues and how to address them.
- Maintain a strong attention to detail for the sake of keeping asset records up to date.
- Under general direction, applies specialized knowledge in a single discipline such as assembly/integration, cross-discipline functions, data engineering, industry expertise, knowledge engineering or legacy evolution.
- Applies specialization to conceptualize, design, construct, test and implement portions of business and technical information technology solutions through application of appropriate software development life cycle methodology.
- Interacts with the customer to gain an understanding of the business environment, technical context and organizational strategic direction.
- Defines scope, plans and deliverables for assigned projects.
- Collects, identifies, defines and organizes detailed user and information technology requirements.
- Coordinates and collaborates with others in analyzing collected requirements to ensure plans and identified solutions meet customer needs and expectations.
- Confirms and prioritizes project plans and deliverables with the customer.
- Participates in business and technical information technology solution implementations, upgrades, enhancement and conversions.
- Understands and uses appropriate tools to analyze, identify and resolve business and or technical problems.
- Applies metrics to monitor performance and measure key project criteria.
- Prepares system documentation.
- Establishes and maintains security, integrity and business continuity controls and documents.
- Participates in special studies.
- Stays current on emerging tools, techniques and technologies.
- Assists information engineers on application of specialized knowledge to coding, testing, implementation and documentation projects.
- Active Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain/maintain one.
- Valid DoD 8570: CompTIA CE Certification (A+, Network+, Security+, or CISSP - all acceptable options).
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required; Associates or Bachelors degree, desired.
- 4+ years of related experience in IT, managing ticketing systems, break/fix, network connectivity, and hardware/software troubleshooting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
