Job Title: Nursing Assistant Inpatient | Pulmonary | Sioux FallsCity: Sioux FallsState: SDDepartment : Pulmonary - Nursing Inpatient - Sioux FallsJob Schedule: Part TimeShift: EveningsHours Per Shift: OtherJOB SUMMARYThe Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the patient during the scheduled work period. The NA provides patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned patient under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Provide assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities; bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, meal preparation and dining needs, emotional and spiritual needs. Administer delegated tasks and treatments. Record vital statistics and other basic health information. Will collect non-invasive biological specimens from patients as needed. Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare. Prepare patient treatment areas for use; prepare and clean medical equipment; dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy. Clean patient living areas or treatment rooms.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for promoting a safe environment for patients, families, staff, residents, and visitors and working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary health care team to provide the best outcomes for patients. Operates and maintains medical equipment based on specific policies. Follows direction in relation to the time and effort needed to achieve work objectives. Delivers written and oral communications that engage audience participants, respond to their questions and concerns, and produce specific outcomes and impact. Completes tasks and inspires confidence in leaders by demonstrating honesty and integrity. Adheres to legal regulations and organizational policies when discussing patient health information.DEPARTMENT DETAILSSchedule includes part-time working 12 or 8 hours shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.QUALIFICATIONSHigh school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred.
