The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk.The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.Within Wells Fargo Compliance, the Enterprise Testing group is responsible for establishing and maintaining a consolidated Enterprise Testing program at the corporate level. Enterprise Testing is responsible for developing a common methodology and standards, providing governance and oversight, executing testing; and conducting horizontal reviews. Testing and validation teams are responsible for implementing the Enterprise Testing methodology and standards, and executing group- specific testing.The Enterprise Functions Testing and Validation (EF T&V) team within Enterprise Testing is responsible for planning and executing validation in accordance with Operational Risk and Compliance Testing and Validation Standards and Procedures and the Issue Management Policy. We are seeking three candidates to lead teams responsible for Operational Risk Testing within EF T&V, which includes business process testing (BPT), major policy requirements (MPR) and other regulatory requirements. Each manager will be responsible for managing a team of 4+ individuals in a cross-functional team to accomplish goals and priorities. The primary purpose of this role is to assist existing management with the development, maintenance, and execution of the annual testing plan as well as identifying opportunities where targeted reviews should be performed based on risk and internal past due benchmarks.Specific Job Responsibilities:The successful candidate will focus on leading a team of 4 or more testing officers, associates, or consultants responsible for the execution of the Operational Risk Testing program within Enterprise Functions T&V, specifically business process testing (BPT) and other regulatory or policy requirement risk and control testing.Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

Leading and performing moderate to high risk review activities

Planning and leading testing within required timeframes and in accordance with established processes and procedures including the Independent Monitoring, Testing and Validation Policy & the Enterprise Testing – Control Testing and Issue Validation Procedures

Providing thoughtful credible challenge to lines of business, across risk programs and the enterprise

Assessing, documenting, and communicating emerging risks, themes and identified issues to management and risk partners in a timely manner in addition to providing routine status updates on reviews

Ensuring issues are identified and documented appropriately and escalates any critical or high risk issues to appropriate leadership

Assisting with implementation of complex and strategic initiatives with risk and complexity

Managing communication and collaboration with business heads, Legal, Audit, and others as needed on risk related topics

Possessing the ability to consider a broad range of issues in making decisions or assisting others in making decisions, and holds oneself accountable for delivering on commitments, renegotiating, and escalating to management when needed

Balancing tasks and concerns for people’s needs

Familiar with building constructive and effective relationships

Familiar with leading and challenging others to improve the organization

Subject matter expert on testing topics, risk types, line of business process walkthroughs, test results, quality assurance, researching, and issue identification

Competent in evaluating adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems and internal controls; while analyzing business and/or systems changes to determine impact to the line of business or organization

Review Testing quality assurance metrics and take appropriate actions to address areas requiring attention

Maintain authoritative knowledge and full understanding of laws and regulations, regulatory guidance, policy and procedure concerning all compliance and operational risk functions reviewed

Accomplish management responsibilities, which include assisting with sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks

Required Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 8+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 4+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

3+ years of management experience

A BS/BA degree or higher

Strong project management skills

Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
