Matheson Inc. is looking for experienced Material Handlers for our Sioux Falls, SD location.Material Handlers who are committed to providing quality service in the most efficient and effective manner are invited to join our family! Material handlers are responsible for loading and unloading sacks, tubs and trays of mail into and out of aircraft containers of various sizes. The smallest of these containers are approximately five feet high and the largest approximately eight feet high.Daily assignments vary and may range from tug operations, mail handling, container management and dock work as needed based on incoming work.Material Handlers while reporting to the manager or supervisor, will receive work direction from the Lead assigned to each shift.Material handler must ensure timeliness; packaging, routing, and systems work is completed accurately and timely.May be assigned to jobs on a rotating basis including sorting mail on a conveyor/roller system and then into rolling equipment used to transport the mail onto trucks; may be required to push this rolling equipment up a ramp and onto trailers as well as to reposition the equipment in the warehouse.Follow all proper policies and procedures; instructions and details of work assignedMaterial handler must ensure timeliness; packaging, routing, and systems work is completed accurately and timely.Identify and label materials or mark information on containers.Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area; when needed, record information on daily production sheet, truck dock manifest and VAP submission reports.Follow all proper policies and procedures; instructions and details of work assignedSafety & ComplianceMust be able to safely work with the containers, this requires utilizing a step aid, stepping up and down approximately 30 inches in order to get into and out of the container.Ensure a safe work environment and abide by all Matheson safety rulesApply basic skills and may develop advanced skills using tools and equipment appropriate for the positionTeamworkParticipate in stand up activities with cross functional teams including daily stretching exercises.Participate and direct team in Lean Warehousing system on the floor.Provide flexibility in timely transactions when moved to different work areas as assigned throughout the shiftMust be able to safely work with the containers, this requires utilizing a step aid, stepping up and down approximately 30 inches in order to get into and out of the container. (H&W is paid on the first 40 hours worked each week.
