Job Description
Working under the Director for Growth and Business Development, as business development representative, to be successful in this role, you should have previous experience developing leads from using various business development techniques (including cold calling) and meeting sales targets. You will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with customers, from first contact until you close the deal. You will also ensure proper after-sales service. You should be motivated and results-driven, have an entrepreneurial mindset and enjoy working in a team environment.
DUTIES Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs Identify priority clients guided by overall growth strategy focused both on financial gain and internal effort Schedule meetings with prospective clients Take detailed briefs from initial meetings with clients Write communications proposals guided by Strategy Lead, addressing or predicting clients’ objectives Prepare invoices and/or service level agreement contracts for generation by Accounts Department Keep records of sales, revenue, invoices, contracts etc. through sales pipeline reporting Develop detailed hand over briefs for Client Service Department once business is won Build and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing customers
Qualifications
Excellent writing skills Market knowledge (working knowledge of the global landscape in general and Africa in particular) Ability to build relationships with clients PowerPoint and Excel skills a must Experience in client support is a plus University degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration or related field 2-5 years working experience, salary market related. SA citizen preferrable.
