Job Description
We are currently seeking an Operator Grade 2 Plant to join our Kumba Iron Ore family. This is a key role within the Beneficiation Plant team where you will be responsible to:
- Continuously conduct inspection and monitoring of equipment to prevent malfunctioning.
- Rectify or report abnormal conditions and do necessary follow-ups.
- Ensure effective communication between all relevant team players
- Provide assistance according to own level / area of competence and in accordance with company policies to the Supervisor and co-workers when instructed or during the absence of the responsible person, to ensure achievement of functional objectives.
- Carry out preparation work for maintenance
- Perform work according to Work to SOP’s.
- Clean equipment/plant with specialised machinery
- Clean safety signs and equipment to ensure visibility and fit for use.
- Collect, sort and dumping of spillage material at dedicated area to prevent contamination and pollution.
- Actively participate in safety initiative i.e. STEPS, MEERKAT
- Conduct the required safety interventions before undertaking to any tasks
Qualifications
You will need the following:- Grade 12/N3 Technical Certificate
- National Certificate in Mineral Processing Lump Ore Level 2 advantageous
- Valid Driver’s license
- 1-2 years’ experience of Plant processes
