Job ResponsibilitiesAssists certified construction inspectors with inspecting daily work performed by contractors on highway and bridge construction projects in various disciplines including but not limited to asphalt and concrete paving, earthwork and base construction, construction of concrete structures, work zone safety and traffic control, erosion control and prevention. Assists in performing inspection duties on construction projects in areas in which inspector certification is not required. Areas include but are not limited to pavement markings, grassing. Accurately measures, calculates and records quantities of installed contract pay items in the field and enters the information into SiteManager daily work reports for accurate contractor payment. Takes samples and assists in performing various field tests of construction materials for compliance with applicable specifications. Assists with ensuring that materials are sampled and tested at required frequency. Ensures manufacturer certifications are obtained prior to the installation or use of engineered construction materials, products, and devices. Assists in the preparation of plans and construction estimates.
