DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities:Directly responsible within the assigned area for the managementof all resources to satisfy customer requirements for timely delivery ofquality product, while optimizing throughput, inventories and all costs.Promote a climate that is lean, cost efficient, safe and productive.Specific Duties:· Promotes and practices a participativemanagement style and team building.· Participates in overall production planningand translates plans into specific manufacturing objectives, activities andschedules.· Utilizes lean tools such as: Kaizen, SMED, OEE, and Value Stream Mapping,to drive waste out of our system.· Maintains coordination of all processfunctions including maintenance, engineering, scheduling, supervision and theactual manufacturing of product in a well-organized manner.· Identifies resources (people and equipment)requirements and to develop specific plans and schedules for building the manufacturing organization.· Responsible for the achievement of criticalsuccess factors identified in the annual business plan.· Supervises all unit employees including: a. appropriatestaffing of unit. b. Implementation of effective technical, managerial andother training programs. c. Compliance with safety policies, plant rules, unitoperating procedures, quality policies and housekeeping practices. d. Appropriateperformance feedback.· Responsible for and authorized to takewhatever actions are necessary to prevent non-conformances relating to product,process, and quality systems. 9.Participates with the plant staff in strategic planning, forecasting objectivesetting and prioritization of capital and expense projects.· Create time lines, action plans, 1st and 2ndlevel paretos, and improvement action data.· Implements systems and procedures to ensure acapable manufacturing process, and to audit the quality of productsproduced. Develop a work environmentthat places high value on top quality products.· Contributes to and supports safety and qualityprograms.· Identifies opportunities for productivityimprovement and cost reduction.· Administers the labor contract in the unit andrepresents management in step two of the grievance procedure.· Performs other duties as required.REQUIREMENTS:JOBREQUIREMENTS:Bachelor of Science degree in a technical or business orientedfield preferred Experience with lean manufacturing principles and processes preferred10 years of manufacturing and/or management experience preferredSkills: Excellent leadership, interpersonal and managerialskillsMust be intellectually flexible and personally adaptable enough tolearn and implement new concepts in manufacturing managementStrong decision-making, problem solving and strategicthinkingEqual Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled
