LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED SOUS CHEF TO JOIN OUR DYNAMIC TEAM. The right candidate will have a strong culinary background and be passionate about food and the guest experience. We are seeking culinary leaders who are professionally polished with a strong work ethic.
The SOUS CHEF position has both managerial and culinary responsibilities; therefore, he/she needs to excel in both domains in order to successfully conduct all the assigned duties. Here are the most important professional skills and abilities required from a sous chef.
Inventory and Food cost control
Leadership by example
Establish the working schedule and organize the work in the kitchen
Produce high quality dishes that follow up the established menu and level up to location's standards, as well as to clients' requirements;
Train the auxiliary kitchen staff in order to provide best results in minimum time and using at the maximum the available resources;
Maintain order and discipline in the kitchen during working hours;
Make sure the hygiene and food safety standards are met in all stages of food preparation, starting with the ingredients and ending with the finished dish which leaves the kitchen door;
Make sure that the professional equipment is in good conditions and signal any malfunction.
REQUIREMENTS
Proven cooking experience
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
Familiar with industry trends and ability to adapt to changing menu
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
3+ years culinary experience
Degree in culinary arts preferred
