Survey Technician

Mead and Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a full-time position available for a survey technician. This position will work mostly independently and will conduct surveys throughout West Virginia.Responsibilities include planning and organizing surveys; operating various survey equipment; performing courthouse research; performing calculations and preparing reports in support of surveys; and recording field data. This position requires heavy lifting and working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis. Travel to construction sites throughout the state is an essential function of this position; a valid driveris license is required. Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.The successful candidate will have an associate degree (or higher) in land surveying or civil engineering and at least 3 years of relevant experience OR a bacheloris degree in surveying or civil engineering and at least 1 year of relevant experience.The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following: data collectors and/or robotic total stations; GPS devices; AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Land Development Desktop; conducting topographic and/or boundary surveys; conducting courthouse research related to surveys; construction staking; performing survey work independently.If you have strong communication and organizational skills, are self-motivated, and can work well both independently and as part of a team, complete the online application process for this job posting at /careers OR submit your cover letter and resume (and the pdf application if possible) to the address below.
