Senior Manager, Data Governance and ToolsCharleston, SC Responsibilities:

  • Support the roll out of an enterprise wide data governance framework, with a focus on the improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior, policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, and implementation of related tools and data architecture.
  • Design, implement and manage Data Governance tools and processes, such as Master Data Management (MDM), Data Catalogues, etc. Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and tools. Responsible for ensuring consistent, accurate, complete, accessible and timely data.
  • Maintain strategic alignment and compliance with US and international data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) by collaborating with Legal, Internal/External Audit and IT leaders.
  • Serve as a liaison between Business and Functional areas and IT to ensure that data related business requirements for the protection of sensitive data are implemented leveraging data governance tools and best practices. Act as an agent of change to help drive data best practices and evangelize the concept of “data as an asset”.
  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, processes, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements.
  • Manage a team of Data Analysts.
What you need to succeed:
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business or related disciplines preferred.
  • Minimum of five years’ management or team leadership experience in IT or data governance with increasing responsibility, within a manufacturing environment, required.
  • Experience in an enterprise IT and / or cross-functional Data Management role required.
  • Experience working within a data governance team (e.g. data governance council or data management COE) required.
  • Working knowledge and experience of data governance & data management as operating models (organization and business process perspective) required.
  • Demonstrated experience in information technology and data governance related change management, required.
  • Hands-on experience with data governance implementation, including tool implementation, required. (e.g. SAP MDG, Informatica, Collibra, Tibco, Profisee, etc.)
  • Prior data governance implementation experience across multiple platforms (e.g., cloud and on-premise) to include data warehouse, data lakes, SAP/HANA, etc. preferred.
  • Experience with SAP products and solutions required, preferably in an SAP for Chemicals/Manufacturing environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions. Proven change management and relationship building experience.
  • Excellent problem solving, dispute resolution, interpersonal, analytical and project management skills; ability to prioritize, delegate tasks and multi-task.
  • Strong focus on collaboration, team building, and customer service.
  • Deep working knowledge and experience with professional organizations such as the Data Governance Institute (DGI), Data Management Association (DAMA), Data Governance Professionals Organization (DGPO), or similar. Data governance certifications highly desirable.
  • Ability to look across the business to determine linkages, process improvements, and possible roadblocks.
  • Capability to interpret strategy and roadmaps into implementation and create value for the business.
  • Demonstrated skill running effective meetings and gaining buy-in and participation from colleagues at all levels within the organization.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills - Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project, MS SharePoint.
  • Must be willing to travel globally up to 25%. Travel should be minimal, but projects could necessitate short-term, intense travel.
  • This position is eligible for relocation assistance.
