Job DescriptionThe Sr. Director of B2B Services and Health Plan Outcomes is a critical leadership role within the Pharmacy Growth and Insights group, focused on driving success against CVS Pharmacy’s performance based contracts, assessing and incubating new pharmacy partnerships and enabling success of the Aetna acquisition by delivering Medical Cost Saving synergies and implementation of future capabilities (and clients) at CVS. The Sr. Director B2B Services and Health Plan Outcomes will report directly to the Vice President of Pharmacy Growth and Insights and will manage approximately 35 high-performing team members.The cross-functional, cross-organization, and inter-company coordination required for this work is critical given the multiple stakeholder groups requiring alignment and buy-in to achieve operational results. The financial/operational goals that this leader will be accountable for are significant, including $100M+ of EBIT for Performance Based networks, $250M in EBIT/STARs revenue from annual medical cost savings through Aetna. In addition to over $350M dollars in annual EBIT goals, this leader is responsible for drastically improved medication adherence results and achieving significant goals on brand new topics including hospital readmissions/care management, improved sites of care, and more. The investment that this leader is responsible for managing will be multiple tens-of-millions of dollars across payroll, IT investment, and overall resource investment (e.g. store labor).This individual will spend roughly a third of their time leading efforts to create new programs and services to help support Aetna members, improve health outcomes and dramatically lower cost of care. This work includes net new capabilities for topics like reducing hospital readmissions, improving care management and reducing sites of care, while optimizing existing medication adherence programs and building net new capabilities to support those patients most in need. This leader will be required to partner and coordinate with the most senior leaders of multiple organizations and business units including CVS Retail, MinuteClinic, Caremark, Omnicare, Aetna, and more. As previously noted, the initial roadmap has a commitment of $250M in annual gross medical cost savings/STARs revenue, with further commitments to come. The roadmap includes not only future expansion of these services, but connectivity of the capabilities that are built to other partners to deliver a new source of revenue to the organization.In addition to the Aetna focused work, this leader will oversee CVS Pharmacy’s capabilities and efforts to grow results against Performance Based Contracts. Currently, CVS Pharmacy Performance based contracts represent over $1BN in gross opportunity with $100M+ of value capture committed annually in 2019 and beyond.Lastly the leader is responsible for pharmacy partnership and B2B services, which include the building and growing of partnership with health plans, payors, and other external partners. This could include building of new clinical partnerships with partners like Optum and assessing growth opportunities with other external partners. Establishing CVS Health and CVS Pharmacy as organizations that can deliver value in different ways will be critical to our continued success.The leader in this role will need to possess extremely strong collaboration and communication skills as it will require them to impact and influence at the most senior levels of the organization a regular basis. A strong healthcare background, with prove ability to influence leaders and ability to operate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders is paramount.Required Qualifications

8 to 10 years of experience in a role that involves strategic problem solving and/or new product development (e.g., consulting) and/or managing within a retail pharmacy environment

5+ years of experience managing a team

Undergraduate degree

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree (e.g., MBA or Doctor of Pharmacy)

Knowledge and experience working in the healthcare space

The ability to communicate effectively and succinctly with a diverse range of stakeholders, both verbally and on paper, and with all levels of an organization

A highly developed ability to manage, develop, and mentor more junior team members to successfully evaluate complex business opportunities

Experience managing a team of 10+ individuals

The ability to foster effective working relations with and persuade diverse business leaders based on fact and reason with an emphasis on achieving tangible results

Experience delivering results in the medication adherence space

Proven capability conducting and managing quantitative portfolio and growth analysis

Strong operational experience (pharmacy/healthcare operational experience a plus)
