Job Description SummaryJob DescriptionSummary/Purpose of PositionThis intern position will provide support to the BDI Surgery Domestic Sales Team as well as assist on multiple cross-functional projects. The ideal candidate for this position is intellectually curious, highly motivated to grow within the organization, thrives in an environment of creativity and accountability, and can perform at a high level across a wide array of assignments.Under the leadership and direction of associates within the sales team, this semester long internship will offer the opportunity for a student to gain experience by assisting in the execution of internal sales initiatives, as well as the analysis of monthly business data and documents and organizing those into comprehensible presentations for a leading global medical device company.In addition, the position also offers opportunities to participate in daily meetings with team members, individual monthly meetings, attend other company meetings, and will have the opportunity to participate in several 1:1 meetings with the leadership at BDI Surgery to discuss career options in the medical device field.This is a paid position.Essential Duties and Position Responsibilities

Extract, research and analyze internal and third-party historical data; provide analysis, identify trends in performance and develop written and data-visualization reports that advise senior leadership.

Work directly with senior leadership to understand their needs and provide tools and information that identify opportunities and threats and provide the foundation for strategic thinking and objective execution.

Develop and implement streamlined predictive processes and be active in the sales and marketing planning process. Create weekly, monthly and yearly sales and sales variance analysis.

Assist with the development of automated and highly efficient reporting systems.

Implement routine planning and review processes for tracking progress towards stated sales and development targets of strategic products.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be a self-starter, highly organized, intellectually curious and possess strong technical, analytical, problem solving, and project management skills.

Expected to exhibit a strong work ethic and effectively manage multiple high priority projects with sensitive deadlines.

Work effectively both as an individual and as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Detail-oriented with excellent verbal, written and data-visualization skills and the ability to prepare and articulate concise data analysis to senior management.

Solid business acumen, ability to quickly learn and understand industry, product lines, competitive and customer environments.

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word and Power Point. Experience in Qlikview, Javelin, Vistex, Apttus and Saleforce.com a plus.

Must possess strong interpersonal, analytical, complex problem-solving, and presentation skills to work with people at all levels.

Desire to pursue a career in the medical device industry

Education and Experience

Business major or applicable undergrad or masters level program (e.g. MBA)

Desired Availability

Position will be part-time during fall / spring semester

Position requires full-time (40 hours/week) during summer semester with regular business hours 8AM-5PM Monday – Friday
