The Outreach Specialist, part of the Medicare Education and Outreach Team, will be responsible for serving as a main point of contact between the Company and current members in a call center environment. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Outreach to members
Multitask between different software programs and databases
Maintain timeliness and productivity with a varying caseload
Organize a caseload based on time frames
Communicate with a variety of agencies/organizations from home health agencies to vendors
Research and telephonic outreach to initiate activities that promote member access to care through community resources, services and programs
Provides timely and accurate resolution of inquiries and issues
Supports member access to care through research, identification and outreach related to home visits, processing of reports, and access to community services
Provides superior quality outcomes by taking ownership of issues to ensure timely resolution or follow-up
Provides superior, professional, and courteous service to customers
Requires HS Diploma
1 year of customer service experience, understanding of the basic principles of managed care
1 year of understanding the concepts of publicly financed health insurance such as Medicare and Medicaid programs
1 + years of call center experience
Or any combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background
Comprehension of the various cultural and linguistic needs of the Medicare and Medicaid population
Knowledge of the various health and social services available in the assigned region with a special emphasis on services offered by community based organizations
Ability to work professionally with the company's associates, community-based organizations, providers and plan members
