OVERVIEW:Assist company’s sales staff and Senior Management in processing initial loan requests and inquiries that come into the Marine/RV Lending departments. Support and serve as back up for Senior Credit Manager and Senior Closing Coordinator according to correspondent bank or BankNewport loan program guidelines.PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs any functions necessary, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers.

Completes initial review of applicants’ credit worthiness upon receipt of application and running credit bureau.

Processes marine lending loan applications. Inputs loan data and ensures the receipt of required verifications and other various supporting documents.

Collects and tracks relevant loan applicant information via email, phone and in person. Communicates with the applicant, sales representatives, boat dealerships, correspondent lender’s underwriting team and other vendors to coordinate these details in a timely manner, being mindful of closing deadlines.

Values the collateral boats through several resources available and/or marine surveys.

Assists in completing and sending loan package, including underwriting write up, and closing documents to the correspondent bank.

Works closely with sales representatives from beginning to end of an application to insure that all stipulations/conditions of the approval have been met.

Inputs loan data, requests and ensures the receipt of required verifications and other various supporting documents.

Prepares loan settlement and lien perfection packages to the order of the requirements of company’s Correspondent Lenders

Collects and tracks relevant loan applicant information via email, phone and in person. Communicates with the applicant, sales representatives, boat dealerships, correspondent lender’s underwriting team and other vendors to coordinate these details in a timely manner, being mindful of closing deadlines.

Working knowledge of Secondary Market Underwriting Guidelines; assists in the preparation, distribution and review of relevant lending paperwork to ensure compliance.

Assist Senior Closing Coordinator with all functions of the closing process. Including but not limited to, review and distribution of loan stipulations, documentation preparation, as well as funding and lien perfection coordination and follow up.

Handles customer inquiries regarding financing process, rates and programs available.

Monitors pending loan files to ensure compliance with applicable Bank policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Keeps abreast of developments within the marine lending field. Attends relevant courses and seminars when required.

Demonstrates a thorough working knowledge of bank guidelines and policies as well as all applicable laws and regulations related to marine lending in order to ensure compliance.

Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and integrity in all internal and external interactions with colleagues, customers and vendors.

Continually strives to improve the department’s efficiencies.

Communicates professionally in oral and written format with internal and external customers.

OTHER ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs related and unrelated duties as may be required.

Serve as back up to other department members as needed.

SUPERVISORY SCOPE:No supervisory responsibility INDEPENDENT ACTION:Performs work within established guidelines and according to specific procedures. Refers problems to immediate supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS:

High school or its equivalent plus specialized course work and training.

At least three years of working knowledge in the marine industry preferred, consumer lending banking background a plus.

A demonstrated understanding of loan procedures and regulatory requirements.

Proven organizational, oral and written communications, problem solving and analytical skills and interpersonal skills.

Must possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Must be able to work independently as well as on a team.

Must have working knowledge of Windows, Word, and Excel as well as loan origination systems.

Attendance in office during normal business hours (at minimum) may be required in order to effectively coordinate with multiple departments, projects and outside entities.

Occasional attendance at industry trade shows may be required.
