Photography Studio Assistant / Editor

Premier Studios is a small community based (est. 1984) photography studio catering to individuals, families, businesses, schools and youth sports, offering a diverse range of services. The studio's services range from portrait sessions, weddings, special events, commercial photography, fine art photography, custom framing, and school/sports coverage. The studio likes to harbor a family, fun, friendly, close-knit environment. The studio also utilizes a number of freelance helpers for larger projects.

Studio Assistant:

The job responsibilities of the position would be wide and varied:

The routine practices of a small business such as basic clerical, customer service, phone and communication with customers, assisting customers and associated sales, setting of appointments and consultations as necessary and marketing as needed.

The process of working with photography in varied aspects. Photo editing and organizing images, working with images to input to photo labs, assembling photo orders and developing photo imaging skills to do advanced retouching and image assembly and finishing. Assisting with photoshoots.

Skills Required:

Applicant should be organized; detail-oriented and able to work with the general public in a professional environment. The applicant must be timely. Basic computer skills required and social media experience a plus. A creative or art background is a plus but not necessary if willing to learn. Photoshop imaging skills, basic or advanced, a plus, but will train if necessary. The applicant must be able to pass child welfare screening.

The studio maintains basic hours of Tuesday through Friday from 11 am to 5:30 pm and Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm. The position would be 25 to 40 hours a week and working weekends on a rotating basis as well as working an occasional evening. The months of October/November/December and March/April are especially busy. The studio runs on an appointment basis so the staff needs to be flexible and cater to client needs. Within the sphere of sometimes crazy schedule requests for time off or switching days, etc. is quite flexible.

Salary:

Salary will be discussed at time of interview and is appropriate for the industry. Bonuses for larger jobs or goals awarded. In-studio food and beverage service. Flexible work scheduling within the confines of normal studio hours and appointments.
