We have an immediate IN-HOUSE opening for an ENTRY LEVEL GRAPHIC DESIGNER & Customer Service Rep. This is part time / full time based on experience. Pay will also be based on experience. Business location is in the Wilkes Barre Area.
Job requirements:
Most Important. Applicant must be a people person , friendly, and must be able to interact with the general public.
Applicant must have completed at least 2 years of college / Associates degree in Graphic Design with experience in Graphic Arts. - We will also consider self taught individuals that have the necessary skill set required for the large format print industry, sign industry, and screen printing industry. Lynda.com offers training videos. Very inexpensive alternative to an associates degree.
Students fresh out of school or attending school - Great opportunity to learn the business.
Web Design Skills are a plus
Applicant must be able to do the following:
Have great people and phones skills - Customer Service is the main part of the job.
Office skills, filing, note taking, organizational skills
Use Adobe Creative Cloud Suite - Specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Dreamweaver
We also run into other industry standard equivalent programs that are non-Adobe, so you'll have to be flexible and learn fast.
Brand Creation, Marketing Materials
Create / recreate customer graphics
Product descriptions and keywording
Video creation, youtube, viral marketing
Product design/ideas will be rewarded
Web development skills not necessary, but you will need to design for the web and be willing to learn more about the artistic side of web development. Hardcore programming skills not needed but would be a great asset.
Individual Must be able to meet deadlines, including deadlines that seem unreasonable. Sometimes we just like to push you to unlock your inner warrior. It's all about meeting the customer needs and expectations. Organizational skills will help you with deadlines. We can help you build your skills to be successful. We just need you to put in the time and effort.
In a nutshell, I am looking for an individual to identify what the customer needs or get a task from management and complete it efficiently on time. You will not be on your own, but you will need to adapt quickly. If you do not know something, or how to do it, you will be taught how to do it, and then master your skills on your own time. We need an individual with a sense of design. We have existing staff that are coders and programmers, I need the sense of style and design part of it. Additional job tasks consist of answering phones, taking orders and messages, meeting with customers, identifying customers needs and fulfilling them. In the past, we have had ideas and projects, then looked to our team and just said make it happen. I need this type of person. You will be paid based on your experience and how well you please customers and management with your design skills and work habits.
