CONSULTANT.LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT (Program Manager - New Product Introduction Training)

The Team

The New Product Introduction (NPI) team within the CX Training Organization works closely with Cisco's Business Units and the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) teams to develop and deliver high-quality, technical training programs on Cisco's newest products and technologies prior to First Customer Ship (FCS). This is a highly visible and fast-paced environment where multi-tasking and accountability is key.

Role & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will join the NPI (New Product Introduction) Team in the CX Training organization. This role provides the candidate with a unique opportunity to apply your training background, product development lifecycle knowledge and, program management and business/communication skills. The primary responsibilities include:

Working with one or multiple Business Units, SRE (Services Readiness Engineering) and TAC (Technical Assistant Center) and other cross-functional teams on the following:

  • Own and lead the development of global training plans and solutions that support Pre-FCS training requirements by working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Engage and leverage internal resources towards NPI training. Assemble, direct, and manage presenter planning meetings, content reviews, post-mortem sessions, etc.
  • Manage training programs from the planning stage through the actual delivery and post-assessment.
  • Drive high-quality training programs and internal customer satisfaction ratings.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders. Act as an advocate for CX Training and TAC by actively participating in BU and TAC meetings.
  • Must be able to influence, negotiate, and manage risks with cross-functional teams.
  • Able to multi-task with great attention to detail.
  • Continually focus on identifying new opportunities to expand our contribution to Cisco. Drive continuous improvements into the process.
  • Responsible for owning and/or participating on various team initiatives/projects.

Qualifications

A technical training background and/or experience in a technical support position is desired.

  • strong program management skills. Able to successfully drive and manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Must be able to influence, coordinate and negotiate with cross-functional teams.
  • Requires excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking, attention to detail, quality and accountability are crucial.
  • Ability to oversee multiple large-scale projects of significant complexity spanning product teams and Business Units
Ability to communicate the overall importance and impact of programs to the appropriate cross-functional organizations for approval and buy-in

Ability to work with cross functional training groups and external vendors to ensure training is scalable and accessible to worldwide audiences

Ability to engage and manage external multimedia vendors, third-party training providers, OEM's and contractors

Desired Skills

A background in education and/or technical support

strong presentation skills
