This is a leadership role responsible for the Global Facilities organization that supports the business priorities and overall growth of the company.

Reporting directly to the VP, Global Procurement, Facilities and Sustainability, as the Director, Global Facilities Management you will be responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing building operations and services across all labs and offices in 64 locations and more than 45 countries.

Your activities will include corporate real estate leases, move management, managing facilities budgets, directing routine maintenance, managing contractors, emergency management issues, vendor/service contract management (food services, fleet and travel), lead a small team of direct reports, operational infrastructure development.

Facilities Management:

Establish and implement near-term and long-term departmental goals, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitor and evaluate programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effect changes required for improvement.

Maintain safe and secure sites and follow the FMC Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards globally.

Project Management:

Provide project management services for facilities-related projects through all phases of the project lifecycle: evaluation, conceptual, cost estimation, schematic design, design development, construction, delivery and closeout.

Develop project scope and oversee project contractors and vendors to ensure timely and on-budget project completion.

Develop and maintain project budget, cash flow and capital tracking documentation in accordance with the Corporate Capital Deployment Process (CDP).

Liaison with Procurement and Legal in all aspects of vendor evaluation, selection and management processes.

Ensure projects conform to all corporate EHS and Risk Management standards.

Provide leadership with detailed and summarized project progress reports.

Real Estate:

Maintain relationships with global network of real estate brokers and landlords.

Work with key stakeholders in the key FMC regions to assess and plan for space needs.

Meet with stakeholders to provide the correct amount of space for growth and contraction while following FMC leadership guidance.

Advise on best practices in various regions to make appropriate space recommendations.

Corporate Services:

Oversee staff who provide travel management, fleet management, records management, and mail services.

Maintain compliance of FMC Travel Expense policies.

Work with Data Privacy team to assure all groups follow FMC data privacy standards.

Team Management:

You will be responsible for the success, growth and satisfaction of a global Facilities team.

You will work to provide guidance and support on the work they are conducting as well as in the management of their workload and prioritization.

You will be required to challenge their thought processes and identify areas for improvement.

You will work closely with them to outline their goals, and their progress towards achieving their goals as well as their annual end to end performance review.

You believe that their successes and failures are yours to share.

Undergraduate degree required.

10+ years of experience in facilities operations, building management, engineering or construction.

Solid understanding of real estate leases, building codes, blueprint designs & general construction concepts

Multi-site experience. Assets range from very small offices, to company owned and office park settings, to a Class A office tower and laboratories.

Global experience a plus.

Ability to design, plan and manage construction projects and office moves.

Experience with budget oversight, including the ability to build department budget and monitor/improve facility related expenses or investments.

Ability to demonstrate culture of safety with strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and Business Emergency Management

Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, results oriented environment.

The ability to partner with executive leaders to support business initiatives and strategic goals.

Strong collaboration and relationship building skills across multiple levels and stakeholders.

Proven leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to persuade others, build consensus, influence without authority and work in a team.

The ability to present information and reports to groups at all levels including c-suite.

Experience with Records Retention, Fleet Management, Food Services and Global Travel

Proven change management skills

Strong analytical and reporting skills, including proven ability with Excel

Strong oral & written communication skills
