e&e is seeking a Network Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity in Mechanicsburg, PA. The selected candidate will be working with client personnel, contracted consultants, and vendors in the delivery of networked data communications and issue resolution. Excellent customer service skills are required.

The selected candidate MUST have the ability to pass an in-depth FBI background check.General Summary:
  • Responsible for the deployment, maintenance and configuration of all telecommunication related capacity and equipment that is deemed necessary by the planning organization (headroom and customer order related) and manages efficient and timely deployment of equipment.
  • Works independently under minimal supervision.
  • Performs a wide spectrum of moderately difficult assignments requiring alternative analysis, innovation, and judgment.
  • Assumes all routine tasks for major or multiple projects and is periodically called upon to make independent decisions.
  • Has strong internal and external networking skills.
Qualifications/Experience:
  • 7+ years' experience managing, developing, and delivering enterprise network infrastructure solutions including routing and switching in multi-tenant environments.
  • Experience with designing and configuring Layer2 & Layer3 Cisco technologies including MPLS, BGP, VRFs, QoS, spanning-tree, VTP, trunking and VLANS.
  • Knowledge and understanding of system flow charts, traffic flow, and data processing concepts.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
  • Monitoring health, performance, capacity of infrastructure.
  • Broad Knowledge of DNS and DHCP.
  • Experience in SD-WAN reference architecture.
Education/Certifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Telecommunication or related field preferred CCNA or CCNP certification (CCNP preferred)

  • Ability to proactively manage issues and drive resolution without receiving direction from peers/management.
  • Ability to work during maintenance hours to assist in troubleshooting, upgrades, maintenance activities, and cutovers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, consultative, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working in ITIL environment and familiar with change and incident management practices.
  • Experience with developing project plans a plus.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Clear criminal history required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Office – Sits 5 to 7 hours per day; Bend, reach, stoop and crouch; lift 10 lbs.
