Hershey Medical CenterLocation: US:PA:HersheyWork Type: Full TimeFTE: 1.0Shift: DaysHours: 8 hoursPenn State Health Heart and Vascular Institute is seeking a patient-focused Cardio Technician to join our team of talented professionals striving to provide advanced care in an academic medical setting!JOB SUMMARY:Our Cardio Technician is a critical member of the team responsible for performing all electrocardiography, dynamic-electrocardiography, signal averaged electrocardiography and exercise tolerance procedures to include calculation of data and the recognition of potential life threatening cardiac irregularities.A versatile position, our Cardio Technician supports multiple populations by performing and recording all routine and emergency adult, geriatric and pediatric electrocardiography and Signal Average Electrocardiographs.The individual selected for this role will calculate data obtained and notify physician of any unusual EKG tracings and educate patients to clinical procedure being performed. Additionally, our Cardio Technician will analyze Holter monitor recording, summarize observation of arrhythmias, ST segment changes, degree of heart block, pacemaker malfunction and documents patient symptoms.As a member of the team critical to ensuring successful outcomes, the Cardio Technician will report potentially dangerous abnormalities to Cardiologist, and initiate emergency resuscitative procedures when indicated.Penn State Health is dedicated to employee development and growth.
