Payroll Coordinator (Supervisor) (Dillard)

Key Responsibilities:

- Team leader for all payroll processes

- Monitors payroll team performance and behavior

- Directly involved in the hiring process of payroll team members

- Monitors department processes for completion

- Develop, test, and implement scripts for all processes payroll related

- Develop, facilitate and implement training for all team members

- Cross-train payroll team members in processes and procedures

- Research, develop and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy

- Processes payroll for facilities in the absence of site payroll team member

- Audit payroll sign off for accuracy from facilities payroll submission

- Direct liaison between payroll and tax department

- Kronos WFR timecard reconciliation and processing

- Process:

weekly payroll and interim payroll checks

terminations and transferred employees

vendor payments, garnishments, one-time overrides, and adjustments

tax deposits related to payroll

quarterly gain share payouts

tuition and education reimbursements

stop payments and/or direct deposit reversals

verifications of employment

- Prepare and process federal, state, and local taxes and reports quarterly

- Conduct internal and external audits related to the payroll function

- Prorate holiday pay for part-time team members

- Provide world-class customer service to internal and external customers

- Distribution of live checks

- Participate in W2 compilation, processing, and distribution

- Facilitate annual vacation payouts

- Participate in annual employee giving campaign

- Other duties as assigned

- Cross-train on other duties and assignments

Required Qualifications:

- Associate degree and 5+ years of experience or equivalent payroll experience

- Excellent keyboard skills and 10-key by touch

- Ability to work efficiently with a great deal of speed and accuracy

- Proficient in Microsoft Office

- Maintain the highest ethical standards in dealing with confidential information

- Must be multi-task oriented, meet deadlines, work under pressure and work with frequently changing priorities

- Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills

- Ability to work in and maintain a highly functional team environment

- Excellent interpersonal skills

- Willing to participate in personal growth and leadership opportunities

Preferred Qualifications:

- 7+ years of payroll experience

- Supervisory experience

- Kronos Workforce Ready proficiency

- Multi-state payroll processing experience

- Manufacturing environment experience

- Federal and multi-state tax filing
