JOB SUMMARYThe Reddaway Freight Auditor inspects Bills of Lading and LTL shipments to ensure the commodity shipped, shipment classification, and declared weights are correct as stated. Discrepancies found during this audit are corrected based on the Freight Auditors decisions, published rules, and NMFTA guidelines.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Audit shipments for incorrect commodity descriptions and weight.
Collect and submit data and photos to support any changes made to the freight bill.
Encourage supervisors and dock workers to help identify suspect shipments.
Work with account managers to help educate them on the proper classification of the freight transported by Reddaway.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience in Freight Auditing, Operations or Logistics.
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Basic computer skills.
Microsoft Office
Email Communication
Ability to work flexible schedule
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Working knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to the NMFTA (National Motor Freight Association) aka National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC).
Bachelors' degree in Transportation or related area, or equivalent education and work experience.
2-3 years’ experience in Freight Auditing, operations or logistics.
1 - 2 years supervisory experience.
