About the Program

Coos Crisis Resolution Center (set. 2003) is a 6-bed, licensed, short-term Residential Treatment Facility providing crisis resolution services and an alternative to emergency, short-term psychiatric hospitalization for those patients whose illness allows them to be treated in a residential setting. This program is located in a residential neighborhood and yet is situated almost directly across from Bay Area Hospital and conveniently close to other community services.

About the Position

We are looking to hire a Full-Time Residential Associate for our Coos Crisis Resolution Center. If you have experience working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Residential Assistant (RA), Residential Counselor, Skills Trainer, or Caregiving for a client experiencing severe mental illness, then this position might be a good fit for you.

Work Schedule: Sunday-Wednesday 10pm-8:30am (NOC) @ CCRC

This position requires that applicants have the ability to work as a member of a direct care team serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness; to support the development of life skills and therapeutic interventions; perform housekeeping and meal preparation; medication administration; and keep accurate clinical documentation. In addition, while we are an organization that does not practice seclusion or restraint, we do still require our direct care staff to successfully complete our Verbal and Physical Intervention (VPI) crisis de-escalation training, which includes performing various physical, evasion and safety maneuvers in class.

Qualifications

PREFER to meet State of Oregon QMHA credentials by one of our following criteria:

a) Bachelors degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or Human Development;

b) OR minimum THREE (3) YEARS verifiable mental health experience working with Severe Persistent Mental Illness population in a supervised social service setting;

c) OR equivalent combination of behavioral science education in addition to satisfactory supplemental mental health experience and training

Successful applicants MUST also have a valid Oregon drivers license, maintain a safe driving record, and the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.

Pay & Benefits

Starting at $15.00 per hour/DOE and QMHA credentials. An additional $1.50 per hour graveyard shift differential will apply during the work hours of 10:00pm - 6:00am.
