About the Program

Bell Cove was built in 2013 and specifically designed as a 5-bed, licensed Residential Treatment Home located in scenic Brookings, Oregon. Bell Cove is PSRB-designated program serving individuals who are affected by a mental illness and have exceptional medical care needs.

About the Position

We have a Part-Time opening for the Personal Care Associate position at our Bell Cove program in Brookings, Oregon. If you have experience working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Residential Assistant (RA), Residential Counselor, Skills Trainer, or Caregiving, then this position might be a good fit for you.

Work Schedule: 8 hours per week

(Days/Hours may vary - Exact schedule will be discussed at interview).

This position requires that applicants have the ability to work as a member of a direct care team serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness; to support the development of life skills; perform housekeeping and meal preparation; and pass medication. In addition, while we are an organization that does not practice seclusion or restraint, we do still require our direct care staff to successfully complete our Verbal and Physical Intervention (VPI) crisis de-escalation training, which includes performing various physical, evasion and safety maneuvers in class.

Caregiving and/or mental health experience (personal or professional) is preferred

Dedication to the wellbeing of each client and helping them meet their activities of daily living (ADL)

Be attentive and engaging with clients both in the community and within program

Orient, train, and supervise residents to perform properly, safely, and independently within the guidelines of the Personal Care Plan

Successful applicants MUST also have a valid Oregon drivers license, maintain a safe driving record, and the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.

Pay & Benefits

Starting at $14.00 per hour/DOE. An additional $1.50 per hour graveyard shift differential will apply during the work hours of 10:00pm - 6:00am. ColumbiaCare offers a comprehensive benefits package for part-time employees. Medical/Dental/Vision coverage for employees working 30 hours a week. All Part-Time/On-Call hourly employees receive time and a half when working a holiday and are eligible to receive up to 5 days of sick time and up to 12 days of vacation per year (accruals earned are based on hours worked). Wellness Benefit of up to $400 per year (prorated based on FTE). Our organization is qualified for federal student aid public service loan forgiveness program.
