JOB DESCRIPTION:
Required to remove groceries from carts, conveyor belt, scans for price or place on scale to weigh. Additionally, bags orders, accepts payment and makes change. Occasionally will assist customer to vehicle with groceries and load groceries into vehicle. Also face shelves, sweep floor or clean around check stand area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/SKILLS:
Use intercom or telephone.
Pushing and pulling grocery carts.
Accepting payment and making change.
Stocking of shelves.
Comply with all safety guidelines and procedures.
Excellent Customer Service skills.
Basic math skills.
Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described below are those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions for this job:
Work in a standing position for up to 8 hours a day.
Use hands, arms, and fingers to handle tools or operate equipment
Lift up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis
Carry up to 10 pounds on a regular basis for a distance of 50and up to 50 pounds on a frequent
basis for a distance of 10 feet.
Push up to 100 pounds for a distance of 50 feet.
Pull up to 50 pounds for a distance of 50 feet.
Stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl
May be required to use ladders and/or stairs
Use of box knife
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
An employee may encounter certain work environment characteristics while performing the essential functions of this position. They may include but are not limited to:
Wet or humid conditions
Slippery surfaces
Confined space
High noise level
