The successful candidate will use their skills to create, maintain, edit, optimize and modify our current Shopify Plus websites. This includes modifying various components of the site, themes, APIs, etc. as needed. Setup and maintenance of Google Tag Manager is also part of the job. You will setup, maintain and administer the Git repositories for these sites. You will work with a very small team, each of which is an expert in their field to fulfill related stakeholder requests. This position would assist our current Senior Front End Developer.
NOTE: All work is done on-site at our office in Medford, OR. Off-site work is not available.Qualifications:Required
- Advanced HTML, CSS and related front end coding skills
- Experience with Git repositories
- Basic graphics and multimedia skills
- Experience with Shopify and Liquid (preferred) or other CMS themes
- Ability to work independently and collaborate as needed
- A keen eye for detail and advanced troubleshooting skillsDesired but not required
- Degree in computer programming or related field
- Experienced with website design projects from start to completion
- JavaScript experience
- SEO knowledge and practical applications
- Understanding of web accessibility and ARIA guidelinesJob Duties:
- Work with our Senior Front End Developer and assist as needed
- Primarily CSS and HTML with some JavaScript programming
- Work with our code repository (Git) and use to deploy code to live sites
- Working with Slate (a command line tool for developing Shopify Themes)
- Working with Liquid (a template language created by Shopify, a subset of Ruby)
- Use PhpStorm for development (or a similar system)
- Collaborates with Stakeholders and team members as needed to complete projects
- Uses graphics software as needed to edit and resize photos and other basic graphical work
- May provide coding for promotional ads and emails including heros, banners, display ads, and related content
- Ensure accessibility/inclusivity of site UI via devtools and screen reader
- Ensure code is properly set up for maximized SEO
- Continually evaluates work processes for efficiency and improvement
- Other related work as needed (an example being some Shopify Admin duties)
