Human Resource Generalist / Safety Administrator

Expanding local manufacturing plant is looking for a Human Resource Generalist / Safety Administrator to join our staff.

Job Duties:

Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, and helping resolve work-related problems.

Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.

Monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.

Perform staffing duties, including hiring, dealing with under-staffing, refereeing disputes, termination of employees, and administering disciplinary procedures and exit interviews.

Weekly time clock processing, time sheet balancing and reporting to TAG Corporate.

Maintains company organizational charts

Maintains human resource information, employee records for reporting.

Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.

Implement and administer employee policies.

Provide advice and service to management on daily employee relations and performance management issues

Support the Corporate HR department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience.

Offer proactive recruiting assistance

Identify ways to improve policies and procedures for employee relations

Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.

Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.

Currently completing (2) Daily, (3) Weekly, (1) Bi-Monthly and (8) Monthly reports in Excel.

Support the Safety staff in all Safety related issues, promotions, meetings.

Facilitate our Monthly Employee Engagement lunch, keeping tracking of monthly notes for ongoing RAIL.

Purchasing of Office supplies and maintaining stocking levels.

Coordinates all Safety Activities

Maintains SDS Sheets via electronic data base along with hard copies

Chairs monthly Safety committee meeting.

Oversight of accident investigations, including updates of OSHA 300 log.

Updates all corporate safety SOP’s.

Submits Required Monthly Safety reporting to Corporate Safety / HR Team.

Qualifications:

Education

BA/BS Business preferred and or 5+ years of relevant work experience.

PHR certification is a plus.

Experience:

Five years in Human Resources with responsibility in the areas of talent acquisition, compensation, employment law, on-boarding and orientation, personnel management, conflict management and employee relations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Thorough understanding of Human Resource practices as well as Federal and State employment law and relevant regulations.

Able to provide effective leadership when solving difficult employee relations.

Thorough knowledge of office procedures and etiquette.

Strong interpersonal skills, proven leadership and business acumen.

Exceptional customer service with a high level of professionalism and confidence.

Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Advanced knowledge of Excel a plus.

Able to communicate and influence change effectively in both written and oral form.

Versatile, flexible and willing to work with changing priorities.

Comfortable working independently with general direction and minimal guidance.

Exhibits confidence in self and others; inspires and motivates self and others to perform well.

Treats others with respect, keeps commitments and upholds Core Values.

Comfortable working with all levels of management

Able to prioritize responsibilities and organize workload.

Working Condition Requirements:

Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk or hear; continual use of hand and finger dexterity.

Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.

Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 25 pounds.

Occasionally exposure to outside weather conditions.
