Position: Human Resources Employment Compliance Consultant

Status: Full-time

Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 depending on Qualifications and Experience

Position Summary:

In this position, you will be primarily working with healthcare practice owners and/or their managers, over the phone and through email, educating, guiding and coaching them through their HR questions and/or challenges. This will often include providing support with scripting, reviewing or drafting of letters, job descriptions, employee disciplinary documentation, and reviewing or drafting of specialized policies.

Bent Ericksen & Associates is a Eugene-based consulting company that provides human resources and employment compliance products and support services primarily to healthcare professionals throughout the United States. The company has been in business for nearly 40 years and is the recognized “go-to” HR resource in its markets. We currently have thousands of clients on an annual retainer who rely on us as their “HR backbone.”

Due to growth and expansion, we are looking for a person to join our cohesive work team. This is a full-time position that will primarily involve interfacing with clients over-the-phone and virtually to help them successfully navigate the challenging HR and employment compliance landscape.

Qualifications:

College degree or equivalent education in HR management preferred

Minimum of 3 years of human resources experience.

SHRM and/or HRCI certified

Multi-state HR-related management experience ideal

Diversified knowledge in the following areas: pregnancy leave, wage & hour laws, disability considerations, harassment, discrimination, training and travel pay, unemployment insurance, workers’ compensation, Families First Coronavirus Response Act, COVID-19 issues, termination procedures, etc.

Excellent problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to be very flexible, think on your feet, and manage multiple tasks at once

Self-confident, motivated-to-learn, and team-oriented

Telephone skills and basic computer literacy are necessary, with the ability to navigate and use multiple web-based programs and provide online support to clients specifically utilizing our online, proprietary “HR Director” platform

Job Responsibilities:

Being well-versed, informed and adapting to current economic changes that impact HR and Employment Compliance

Providing managerially sound advice to HR questions via written and verbal communication

Discerning regulatory applicability (state or federal or both) to a client, based on their location and number of employees they have employed

Educating clients on their obligations in order to be in compliance with applicable laws and/or requirements

Providing guidance and coaching, when needed, for HR questions which could include but are not limited to the following: attendance, interviewing techniques, disciplinary actions, harassment and/or discrimination investigations, termination meetings, employee communication, reviews and goal setting

Reviewing letters, job descriptions, employee disciplinary communication and policies

Drafting letters, job descriptions, employee disciplinary communication and policies

Other applicable duties:

o Article writing

o Researching federal, state, or city compliance regulations and changes, and incorporating the results as needed

o Representing and promoting the company’s products and services

Additional Information:

Our company offers a casual work environment, places a high value on work/life balance, and is located near Skinner Butte Park.

The 40-hour week comprises a combination of telework from home and in-office hours; hours are typically Monday – Friday 8 am to 5 pm.

This salaried, exempt position, offers an excellent benefit package that includes: PTO, paid holidays, medical insurance, dental and wellness reimbursement, SEP-IRA retirement plan, and participation in the company quarterly bonus plan. Starting salary range: $65,000 - $75,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
