DescriptionLane County Board of Commissioners; Office of Commissioner Buch: INTERNSHIP$15.00 / hrA COVER LETTER AND RESUME ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS INTERNSHIP APPLICATIONLane County is currently recruiting an INTERN for the Lane County Board of Commissioners. This internship will consist of providing support services to a Commissioner in responding to constituents.Internship Description:This internship will act as an Assistant to the Lane County Commissioner to provide administrative help and constituent services to the residents of Lane County. The Assistant will help with administrative duties such as assisting with phone calls, responding to emails, correspondence, scheduling, attending events and more, depending on skill level.Program Description:The Board of County Commissioners legislates and administers County government within the limits of its authority granted in the Lane County Home Rule Charter. The charter grants legislative and administrative power to the full-time, paid five-person board.Individually, board members may seek to address the needs of constituents and carry out special assignments as the full Board may direct. This program includes Performance Auditing, which provides the board with independent management audits of selected programs within Lane County government.In alignment with Lane County's Strategic Plan, and to improve recruitment, selection, retention, and advancement of underrepresented groups in Lane County, the following internship will be offered to Lane County residents, undergraduate, and graduate students with particular emphasis on providing pathways for historically underrepresented individuals to professional careers at Lane County. Historically underrepresented groups may include, but are not limited to: first generation college students, low-income students, students who identify as LGBTQ+, students of color, veterans, and students with disabilities.Schedule: Monday - Friday; 10 hours a week between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
