RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client that is seeking a Biochemist, Product Development in Corvallis, OR.

Summary:This position requires a deep understanding of biochemistry with practical skills in liquid and solid phase reactions and molecular biology techniques with a solid foundation of underlying scientific principles.

Responsibilities: Development support for laboratory and test systems applied to nucleic acid amplification or other diagnostic methodology together with sample preparation across various formats Assay development for microfluidic versions of these tests from specific method protocols toward integration and qualification of consumable device and instrumentation prototypes Design of experiments spanning data collection through analysis and reporting

REQUIREMENTS: Doctoral degree with 2-5 years of experience or Master's degree with 5-10 years of experience in biochemistry, cellular biology, or molecular biology Product experience launching assays, devices, or consumables in an industrial atmosphere such as biopharma, life science technology, or molecular diagnostics Experience developing methods of sample preparation from various sample types with knowledge of core principles underlying cell lysis, nucleic acid purification, and surface modification for nucleic acid capture Solid background optimizing PCR and qPCR methods and developing multiplexed assays Familiarity with biosafety principles and protocols from working in a BSL-2 laboratory Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary environment spanning science and engineering Interest in the fundamentals of microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip devices Demonstrated ability to conduct experiments, document procedures, and perform analyses Proficient communication and ability to influence and be influenced by results or constraints Productive leadership and teambuilding with independent drive and problem-solving expertise Experience working with small, agile teams in the dynamic environment of a large organization Growth mindset and commitment to create an energetic, diverse, and inclusive environment
