How You Will Contribute:

As a Hayden Homes CAD Drafter (Residential), you will be responsible for working collaboratively with the Plans Department Manager, Plans team members, and Regional Managers to ensure the accurate preparation of permit documents (releases) and timely delivery of Hayden Homes community lot fits.

Hayden Homes is a low-cost high-quality production home builder. We have a set number of value engineered plan sets that we produce. Your primary responsibility will be managing CAD and electronic files of plats and civil construction drawings to create individual site plans per home release. You will complete home footprint fits on individual lots by community, and make minor plan updates in CAD, plotting plan sheets, and integrate changes into our plans management systems. You will also be responsible for assembly of plans and all supplemental documentation per home release.

Responsibilities Include:

Site Plans: Manages CAD and electronic files of plats & civil construction drawings to create individual site plans per home release. Verifies plan orientation and options per home release and completes individual site plans within jurisdictional requirements.

Releases: Assembles plans and all supplemental documentation per home release based on selections and jurisdictional requirements using AutoCAD and Bluebeam.

Lot Fits: Completes home footprint fits on individual lots by community. Manages land construction documents necessary to complete draft and final versions of community lot fits. Ensures all jurisdictional requirements are met and accounts for restrictions in final lot fits.

File Management: Responsible for minor plan updates in CAD, plotting of plan sheets, and integration into plan file management system.

You meet all community lot fit deadlines and your release turnarounds are timely and accurate. You manage your time through planning and priority setting and hold yourself accountable for producing quality work within tight timeframes. You take a systematic approach to make the workflow more effective and efficient in an ever-changing environment. You are an active listener, strong communicator and can work collaboratively within a team environment.

What You Can Offer:

Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD. Also proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook and Excel.

Abilities:

o Ability to read and interpret construction documents and demonstrate a working knowledge of the construction process, terms, jurisdictional requirements, and building components of residential buildings.

o Ability to receive, execute, and communicate ideas effectively along with strong interpersonal, verbal, listening, and written skills.

o Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

o Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to attend to details.

Experience: One to two years of previous work experience in AutoCAD-related drafting required. Hands-on experience and proficiency in AutoCAD and prior industry experience in construction/home building strongly preferred.
