The firm was originally established in 1946 to provide outside plant construction services to the communications industry and has been in continuous operation ever since. The firm continues to focus upon the communications industry and has extensive experience with all of the latest technologies, including fiber optics as well as a comprehensive background in outside plant construction technologies, including directional boring.

Overview:

Assist with the installation/repair/maintenance associated with underground utilities.

Responsibilities:

- Performs general construction work under direction of Foreman/Supervisor

- Ability to read and understand work orders

- Basic knowledge of cable locating, ability to locate underground cable

- Ability to operate various types of trucks and equipment

- Install underground telecommunications cabling

- Flagging traffic, setup safety perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriers

- Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations and policies

- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc in the accomplishment of Trawick's goals

Qualifications:

- Hand dig holes and trenches with a shovel and other hand tools

- Climb into and out of equipment (cars, trucks, backhoes, trenchers, etc)

- Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery

- Repetitive motion with hand, wrist, feet, head, and shoulder

- Work in congested and remote areas

- Work while standing or sitting for several hours at a time

- Must be able to work in small/sometimes confined areas

- Must be able to work in variable heights/depths

- Must be able to lift/carry up to 50+ pounds

- Reach, bend, stoop while performing work

- Maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement

- Work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hardhat and other safety equipment as needed

- Work in extreme weather conditions depending on geographical locations (below freezing to over 100 degrees and in very windy conditions)

- Hours/Schedules are determined based on work location and customer needs and in compliance with any regulations; on average - must be able to perform the above for at least 8 hours per day 5 days per week. - - - - Weekend work/Overtime is dependent on work load
