Job Description

General Production - Poultry Processing Positions

1st and 2nd Shifts Available

Set-up/Tear-down work station & line as required.

Maintain clean and uncluttered work area.

Operate hopper gate to allow controlled flow of product.

Arrange raw material on product belt.

Sort and grade raw materials.

Sort and grade cooked product.

Makes boxes (line boxes with poly liner if applicable).

Bulk pack product into lined boxes.

Pack bagged product into boxes.

Push finished product boxes through taper, manually tape when applicable.

Scale boxed product to required weight.

Label boxes as applicable to customer specifications.

Makes totes (lines totes with poly liner).

Uses a hand or power jack to move product to and from the cooler/freezer after proper PIE training as required and based on production needs.

No prior experience or training.

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

No skills needed

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles and cold temperatures (ambient temperature 38° to 42°F). The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
