EH&S/Compliance Manager – Wickliffe, OHKelly Scientific Resources is currently seeking candidates for EH&S/Compliance Manager for one of our top clients in Wickliffe, OH . This is a Direct Hire position.The EH&S/Compliance Manager will enforce all EH&S requirement and train all employees on OSHA and EPA regulations, manage analytical laboratory while ensuring environmental compliance.RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for the site EHS requirements :

Submit, obtain, and update appropriate permits, licenses, and authorizations to operate in compliance with regulatory requirements for the site’s manufacturing and other operations.

Ensure accurate and timely data collection to complete EHS reports in compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements, as well as company guidance notes for operational excellence.

Responsible for the site Security Program, ISO 9001 and 14001 Management System.

Manage biomonitoring testing program and ensure appropriate protection measures are in place to maintain exposure of employees below defined limits.

Establish and maintain policies and procedures for safe operations.

Develop, implement and monitor leading safety indicators.

Develop the site Risk Awareness culture by training and sensitizing all employees to safe work regulations and practices.

Collaborate with CSM NA Process Safety Manager to improve the site process safety.

Collaborate with CSM Product Stewardship team on the site product SDS and labelling.

Handle hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal, as well as environmental remediation if needed.

Maintain working relationships with governmental agencies and ensure all

Inspections are coordinated with any potential deficiencies minimized.

Manage the day-to-day activities of the compliance technician.

Manage the site laboratory:

Manage the laboratory team of a laboratory supervisor and technicians in the execution of their daily work. Ensure good housekeeping in the lab.

Ensure all advanced analytical instrumentation is functioning properly, and calibrations and maintenance are performed timely.

Ensure analytical results are accurate and timely; ensure proper documentation of work in laboratory notebooks in accordance with regulatory requirements and company objectives for operational excellence; develop and implement analytical procedures; establish and maintain SOP's.

Assist in the decision of the receipt of raw materials based on quality standards; work with procurement and suppliers in capability development and problem resolution.

Actively troubleshoot production or quality control issues; provide technical support to customers; organize database for customers’ specifications; prevent quality non-conformities; make final decision on release of products based on quality standards.

Keep production statistics up-to-date and track production first pass yield.

Provide input into the department business plans, budgets and technical decisions.

Responsible for the site ISO 9001/14001 Management System:

Implement and Maintain ISO 9001 & 14001 Management System to ensure compliance to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.

Conduct reviews with management team to discuss the site ISO objectives and maintain minutes of the reviews.

Initiate, update, and follow-up of NCRs, CARs, OTMPs, CDRs, CFs.

Input of consumption KPIs: compile data, input, maintain database.

Customer Audits: act as site guide, participate in audit, and initiate CARs from non-conformances of audit.

Internal Audits: schedule, conduct, report, keep record, and initiate CARs from non-conformances of internal audit.

Act as the site document controller.

Responsible for the site Security Program:

Ensure appropriate security measures are in place at the site.

Train employees on the site Security Program.

Manage the day-to-day activities of the Site Receptionist & Compliance Administrator

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor degree in Chemistry and/or Environmental Sciences

At least 5 years of hands-on experience in the chemical or metal industry

High level of ownership

Interpret, apply, and comply with government regulations

Proven experience in analytical instruments and methods - ie. ICP, titration, etc

Experience with ISO management system

Analytical skills and accuracy in data recording

Sets an environment of continuous improvement to ensure maximum results

Balances immediate and long-term priorities

Able to lead and motivate as well as maintaining a high morale among team members

Showing empathy while being strict / Demonstrate interest in developing others

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficient computer skills
