We are also home to EyeMed, the fastest growing vision care company in the United States.Supporting over 4,500 retail stores in North America, a career in our retail headquarters allows us to stay in touch with the end customer and use their ever-changing behaviors and preferences to shape our offerings of the best eyewear and services.GENERAL FUNCTIONThe Lead Systems Administrator will provide maintenance, configuration, monitoring and overall technical support for the Point of Sale (POS) system which powers Luxottica’s retail stores such as Lens Crafters and Sunglass Hut. This role is pivotal to ensuring our customer’s receive the best experience by focusing on stability and flawless deployment of the technical architecture enhancements.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead in project activities by providing technical expertise in system administration, configuration, design and deployment of related POS technologies
Implement monitoring of various metrics (logs, db health, CPU, memory, application sessions, hogging threads, etc)
Partner with IT vendors to ensure portal data and applications have optimal performance
Responsible for promotion and version management
Develop application deployment automation to avoid human mistake (to support various brands, various countries, typically a beta/pilot/full roll out schedules, etc)
Implement POS Systems Monitoring controls
Define service protocols in monitoring activities
Provide periodic updates on system health, issues proactively prevented, SLA metrics
Resolve customer requests regarding software or reporting toolset
Responsible for problem resolution. Rapidly respond to incoming incident tickets & resolve crucial and high incidents raised to level 3. Properly escalates other issues to appropriate support teams. Coordinate root cause analysis and perform simple system maintenance
Acts as a partner with vendors and appropriately manages expectations & performance
Plans capacity needs for technical environment and meets with stakeholders to determine ongoing requirements
Analyze and assess need for any system reconfigurations & make recommendations
Assist with the development of application code.
Define processes & procedures to monitor systems; partner with internal teams to implement
Proactively respond to trends to avert future incidents and adheres to IT security procedures
Research new technologies that can improve processes within Luxottica and proposes POC and implementation of the same.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related discipline
8+ years’ IT experience
Strong ability to coordinate a team
Strong ability to perform in multi-team projects
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Well-organized with good attention to detail
Works exceptionally well under high pressure situations
Flexibility to work non-business hours on occasion to meet business needs
Strong written and verbal communication skills; including listening
Ability to collaborate across international boundaries
Thrives in a fast-paced environment with the ability to remain focused on priorities
Proficiency in systems: Linux scripting, Oracle Database, Middleware administration, Linux Administration, Windows Administration, Windows scripting, Java development, Monitoring tools, Project leadership

PaaS and IaaS implementation
