The U.S. Army has training and jobs in more than 150 career fields, ranging from medicine and law to electronics, mathematics and many more. U.S. Army Soldiers also receive competitive pay and benefits packages that equal or surpass those found in many entry-level civilian jobs. Depending on how long you enlist, you can get up to $40,000 as enlistment bonus, for certain qualifying jobs. The many programs the Army has available to help Soldiers pay for a college education will assist you in achieving a college degree without having to swim through a sea of debt afterwards. As a Soldier in the Army, you can take advantage of the Montgomery GI Bill as a way to pay for your college education. Many other programs are also available such as the Army Reserve Education Assistance Program (REAP), the Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP), and Tuition Assistance (TA) Program.
Minimum requirements:
- Age: 17-34
- Citizenship: U.S. citizen or I-551 cardholder
- Meet U.S. Army Height/Weight standards and tattoo policy (contact recruiter)
- Meet law screening process
- At least have a H.S. diploma or G.E.D. (Reserve only)
