We are all united in delivering the best experience for our customers.As an Accounting Specialist Sr within the Finance Team, you are part of a group that is responsible for the aggregation and analysis of the various components of PNC Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses (ALLL or “reserves”). This group has significant interaction with the various risk, balance sheet analytics modeling and finance organizations and works directly with information about PNC’s various loan portfolios (i.e. Commercial, Consumer and Impaired loans). The reserves process is a dynamic process of which the results are highly visible and a significant component of the financial closing process. A need exists to provide direct assistance to the team with the completion of a variety of analysis, reporting and governance responsibilities in addition to assisting with new reserves initiatives as they arise.You are responsible for planning, organizing and managing resources to support the key business decision making process. This position is ideal for the individual who desires to contribute to a group’s success and is comfortable working in a highly visible group. This position will be based in Cleveland, Ohio at our downtown Cleveland office.Job Responsibilities:Aggregation, validation and variance analysis of key ALLL components used in the required quarterly internal and external reserve reports.Identify any unusual movement in the credit quality information (past dues, non-performing loans) and ensure the reserve calculations and reporting accurately reflect the changing risk inherent in the portfolio. Ensuring such key developments are appropriately reported.Support the quarterly RAC meetings, working with the supporting information, analysis and reporting, that reflects Total PNC results as well as lines of business.Provide support for special projects including acquisitions, system conversions, specific legal entity reporting, reserve forecast development and corporate business initiatives.Preferred skills:This position requires a strong mix of excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, computer and project management skills. 3+ years experience in banking including exposure to balance sheet. Proven experience in financial reporting and analysis required. Strong/proven computer skills such as: SQL, TOAD MS Access Excel, including the ability to work with complex charts/tables for use in Word and PowerPoint applications Hyperion SmartView as used with Excel is a plus Minimum intermediate Word, and Powerpoint skills for preparation of presentation materials Adobe Acrobat a plus Must have the aptitude to quickly learn other systems. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Proven strong analytical skills and process orientation. Ability to adapt to rapidly changing requirements. Demonstrated workload management skills with ability to get engaged in multiple complex assignments and meet tight deadlines. Attention to detail is critical. High degree of intellectual curiosity. Team and customer service oriented. Flexible, proactive, willing to assist where needed.Job Description

Provides accounting, reporting and analytical expertise in support of a business function or business unit.

Provides specialized accounting, financial reporting, accounting research and control oversight for the company.

Creates accounting memoranda and various specialized reports for internal and external use.

Completes month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities related to foreign exchange, cash management and tax, and subsidiary regulatory reporting, including preparing the appropriate audit work papers for such activities.

Supports and assists accounting staff in the development of their professional skills.

Certifications are often desired.
