HVAC Service Technician/Installer (Harrison, OH)

DUTIES:

Perform a variety of standard to moderately complex technical tasks related to installing, maintaining and repairing heating, cooling, ventilation and related systems, for both commercial and residential customers.

Inspect and troubleshoot HVAC systems and their components (ex. Heating units, exhaust fans, ventilation, humidifiers, filters, pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.) to evaluate condition, identify necessary repairs and recommend preventative maintenance.

Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical and electrical components of the systems.

Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts,calibrate system to manufacturer's recommendations, and explain fully to customer what the issue is and what is needed to correct.

Document all installed equipment upon arrival: make, model, serial number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements, and pictures as necessary.

Perform preventive maintenance on units as necessary.

Travel to job sites in service area, and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer.

Be available to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of our customers.

Maintain good working order of company vehicle including refueling as necessary, reporting any mechanical issues, and filling out and submitting monthly vehicle inspection form. Vehicles should be washed on a regular basis.

Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle.

Understand company pricing and generate appropriate customer invoice at job site.

Electronically process credit card payments, obtain customer signature at the completion of the job, obtain correct customer information including name, address, phone, email address, and referral source.

Participate in company provided training opportunities on latest industry technologies.

Identify and report potential opportunities for additional business (newer system, service contracts, and additional services).

Think outside the box on ways to enhance service and customer service experience.

Understand what IAQ is and be able to determine how and what products benefit the customer.

Be familiar with our service maintenance agreements and able to sell this service to clients to help facilitate long-term client relationships.

Maintain a high quality of service at all times.

Understands and conforms to safety codes and safety aspects of job. Takes appropriate measures to ensure safety of self and customer.

Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.

Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations.

Ability to work independently and/or as a team in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Install replacement equipment and parts per manufacturers specifications to honor manufacturers warranties

Complete preventive maintenance in accordance with established standards

Analyze and repair malfunctions in accordance with EPA established standards

Ability to operate diagnostic tools and meters

Educate customers on repairs and make recommendations to help maintain their heating and cooling systems

Perform system startup and perform diagnostics for proper velocity, volume, temperature, pressure, etc.

Prepare records and reports describing procedures, actions taken and recommended solutions.

Prepares and submits accurate requests for supplies, materials and equipment

Ability to work independently with little to no supervision

Follow schedule to complete accurate and timely equipment maintenance and operating logs.

Complete documentation, including but not limited to, timesheets, expense reports, and service reports.

Conduct general tasks including, but not limited to, service on-call rotation, and maintaining tools and vehicle.

Be able to pass a drug screen

Qualifications:

High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent,

HVAC technician and installation Experience

Own some basic tools of the trade

Have a valid drivers license and an acceptable driving record

Certifications a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00 to $30.00 /hour depending on experience
