Part-Time Paralegal “Individual needed immediately for developing Wilmington personal injury practice within established law firm. This position manages a case load of clients for 1-2 attorneys and reports to one of the partners. Primary duties include: electronic document management, client liaison, discovery, assistance with trial preparation, and document preparation. Each client is assigned a personal paralegal and that paralegal is responsible for his/her caseload. The paralegal is the primary contact for the client and ensures that all deadlines are met, calendars “ including court dates, mediation dates, and the like “ are managed, discovery is served and processed and preparation for trial is complete.

Focus areas include nursing home abuse/neglect, VA disability, workers compensation, bicycle accidents, boating accidents, auto accidents, and medical malpractice.

Requirements: Must be team player, detail oriented, capable of multi-tasking, have excellent organizational skills, and promote the vision and mission of the firm. Loyalty and a willingness to learn, put in extra hours if needed and be successful are more important than experience. Must be skilled with computer software especially Office 365. Prefer individual with experience with Amicus (or CLIO). Must have experience working in a personal injury firm. The best "fit" would be an individual who is capable of assisting us in developing the practice forms required for a personal injury practice, managing the tasks, setting priorities, who can handle stress well and who is not easily offended by the subject matter of the cases (which sometimes would be considered in poor taste outside the scope of the work). The successful applicant must sign non-compete agreement and confidentiality agreement as condition of hire.

The schedule for this position is 20 hours/week during normal firm operating hours. The Firm is open 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday Through Thursday and on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Salary/Benefits “ Hourly Rate Position Between $12.50-$16.00/hr. negotiable based on skill set, fit and experience. Part-time positions are not eligible for benefits. However, if/when this position transitions to full time benefits would be available. Onsite parking generally available.
