Responsible for patient specimens from receipt in the lab through preparation and processing.
Perform technical analysis on various specimens in a timely manner
Provide result interpretations using both automated and manual analytical methods
Notify healthcare provider of critical value results
Notify healthcare provider office of completion of stats or any specimen problems
Perform quality control, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, equipment maintenance as well as proficiency testing analysis
Complete corrective actions to ensure all laboratory operations are at acceptable levels
Assistance in the supervision of laboratory in the absence of the supervisor
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology is required, Phlebotomy experience required
Bachelor's degree in Biology or Chemistry is acceptable if CLIA requirements are met
Minimum of three years' experience as a Medical Technologist
ASCP or AMT certifications are preferred
Knowledge of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
