I'm looking for a farm hand who is interested in 8-12 hrs /wk (flexible scheduling) on average, [more time available over summer] to help me with indoor and outdoor maintenance and repairs on 12 acres of property. I can teach an interested worker whatever skills are needed IF you are interested in learning them. I'm old enough that I need physical help and stamina to get these projects done. In addition, I have other "new work" projects going on with which some assistance is needed. I also maintain and repair 4 rental apartments. There is an abundance of homeowner skill opportunity.
Some work. cutting down trees and moving logs, carpentry, foundations is more physical. Other work using a pressure washer, painting, cleaning, plumbing, electrical. is not.
Some projects are "solo" ; others we will work on together.
You must recognize the value of my time and therefore be reliable and committed to schedules and times that we agree on. Youll need a reliable phone and be ready to text me whenever problems arise or plans change RIGHT AWAY. Youll need reliable transportation. This is rural property.
Pay depends, as always, on your skills and motivation. I'll start you at $10/hr; more if you need less training or supervision. I'll give you raises as you progress.
Prior helpers have stayed with me through their college years; some have commented that they learned more useful info with me than at school. Others have found a trade that they enjoy, and pursued a new career.
Current Driver's License required.
