SURGICAL TECHNICIAN/CT - SURGICAL SERVICESJob ID: PER00J8OJob DescriptionPosition: Surgical Technician/CTThe essential duties and responsibilities of a Surgical Technician/CT include:-Maintaining an environment of safety for patients, self and others-Completing duties according to the individual needs of the patient with full consideration of their safety needs-Understanding and complying with OR policies, procedures and protocols -Placing equipment and supplies in the operating room and arranging the equipment according to the Physician's instructions-Reviewing Physician preference lists and checking the supplies and instruments required for each surgical procedure-Implementing appropriate instrument table set up while preparing and maintaining a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure-Assisting team members in safely placing and positioning the patient on the table-Handing instruments and supplies to the surgeon, holding retractors, cutting sutures and performing other tasks as directed by the surgeon during the operation-Putting unused supplies and instruments away at the end of the surgery and assisting with room turn over and clean up Other duties may be assigned.QualificationsIt is preferred that the candidate have a High School Diploma or GED and be a graduate of a Surgical Technician Program.It is also preferred that the candidate have one (1) to two (2) years of experience as a Surgical Technician.Primary Location: Raleigh, North Carolina, United StatesDepartment: REXH-14118-Rex Open Heart SurgeryShift: Day Job
