Senior Tax Accountant for Public CPA Firm in Durham NC

We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant with strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to join our team at our established & growing CPA firm in Durham, NC. We are looking for a CPA with 7 or more years of experience in public accounting. The position will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients including individuals and small to medium-sized businesses from a variety of industries. Ability to proactively and effectively communicate with clients and staff is a must. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations, planning and performing review and compilation engagements, tax planning and meeting with clients, reviewing bookkeeping, quarterly & annual payroll tax returns, responding to IRS, state, or county notices, training and managing staff as needed, and the ability to meet time constraints and deadlines. The position will require the accountant to work independently, and with others, with limited supervision. Our firm has a heavy tax season workload which requires a lot of additional hours during tax season. Experience with Thompson Reuters Ultratax Tax Software, Drake Tax Software, Microsoft Office and QuickBooks is a plus. Background and Credit Checks will be required prior to hiring.
