Description:iiiiiiiiiii The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate the tuberculosis activities for the control of the spread of TB in Halifax County. Responsibilities include: projecting program needs, compiling information upon which the budget recommendation for the TB program is based and remaining within the budget allocated to the program. Other duties include maintaining thorough knowledge of prevention,imode of transmission, screenings techniques, new drug therapy, side effects of drugs, case management of TB patients and TB contacts. Also will include: review notification from doctor and referrals on all patients; visit hospitalized patient and review chart when possible; counsel and provide basic health teaching to patient and family in prevention and detection of TB. This position will staff daily clinics, community shelters and performing related duties as required.Requirements:iiii Graduation from a four-year college or university with a B.S. in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and one year of Public Health Nursing experience; or Masteris in Public Health and graduation from a school of professional nursing and one year of professional nursing experience; or graduation from a school of professional nursing and two years of professional nursing experience including one year of Public Health Nursing experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All health department employees (with the exception of individuals with an accommodation or medical exemption) are required to get an annual flu shot vaccine as part of condition of employment.Compensation:iii The hiring range for this position is 42,146 - $53,366. Halifax County provides a comprehensive employee benefits package, including membership in the N.C.
