RCM Supervisor - Exception Management

Responsibilities:

Supervises Administrative Team Leader and Healthcare Billing Specialists to ensure all quality and production goals are met daily.

Identifies, objectively assesses and mitigates and resolves employee performance and behavioral issues promptly.

Objectively assesses issues between employees and engages Human Resources as need to resolve.

Trains and orients new staff members within the Front End Exception Management (Unbillables) Department.

Develops effective production plans that maximize team performance.

Manages the performance (attendance, reviews, etc.) and mentors (leads by example, GEMBAs,) all team members to facilitate a positive and engaging work environment.

Develops and/ or contributes to the development of production standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for assigned process responsibilities as needed.

Trouble shoots and researches process/ payer issues for leadership as needed.

Maintains timely updates for inventory logs and ensures turnaround times established for the department are met.

Gathers, prepares and inputs data for financial/ departmental reports.

Assesses employee performance via data analysis and direct engagement and promptly determines and implements next actions to achieve optimal performance.

RequirementsLicense/Certification/ Education: Normally requires an Associate's Degree with 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a related field associated with the skill requirements and job description outlined below.Skill Requirements:

Supervisory experience managing a mid to large group, i.e., 6 or more non-exempt (hourly) team members and/or minimum of 3 years of leadership experience.

Demonstrated ability to motivate a team and individual team members to achieve stated/ designated goals, required.

Demonstrated ability to learn process/ production functions and successfully train/ transfer knowledge to others to perform those functions, required.

Demonstrated ability to develop and/ or contribute to the development of process standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs), required

Demonstrated ability to identify performance issues, assess root cause and develop successful action plans for improvement, required.

Keen data analysis and unbiased decision making skills, required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, required.

Superb interpersonal communication skills, required.

Previous work experience in a production work environment where production and quality standards are primary performance attributes for assessing employee performance, required.

Experience with and/ or knowledge of a Workforce Optimization (WFO) performance management system is considered a plus.

Previous medical billing experience or account receivables experience is considered a plus.

Knowledge and application of LEAN/Six Sigma is considered a plus.
