FULL-TIME PAINTER

We are looking for a skilled Painter to join our team, with superb experience at painting interior apartment homes! Work includes painting the interior of apartment homes and other surfaces. Exterior painting may be required on various items. Your job will be important since good painting has both practical and aesthetic benefits.

Applicant must have a minimum of 2+ years’ experience painting with various tools and in various heights and spaces while observing all safety measures. They must be reliable, trustworthy and possess great attention to detail in completing their duties. The goal is to deliver high-quality painting work in a proficient and expedient manner.

General Responsibilities

Must have valid driver’s license. Must be 18 or older.

Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

Work with Community Manager and Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize painting needs of interior units.

Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures and furniture, etc.

Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc.

Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster)

Must be proficient in the appropriate application of caulking around trim and baseboards.

Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture

Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools. Experience with sprayer is a huge plus.

Apply varnish, stain, sealer, and other finishes (as needed).

Must be able to perform sheetrock and drywall repairs as needed.

Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions. Safety is priority.

Other duties, in addition to painting duties, may be assigned at any time by the Community Manager & Maintenance Supervisor as needed in the turn process of apartment homes.

General apartment maintenance knowledge & experience is a huge plus!

Skills

Proven experience as a painter. Minimum of 2 years painting interior apartments is required.

Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them.

Solid knowledge of painting techniques ie: precise straight lines, no drips, etc

Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)

Good basic math skills

Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.

Must be comfortable working from high heights on ladders and scaffolds!

Must be proficient and keep up with a high volume of units to paint.

Must be flexible and able to accommodate a flexible schedule as needed.

Must communicate effectively with Community Manager and Maintenance Supervisor on progress of assigned painting and keep given timelines.

Must be willing to assist in other maintenance duties if needed.

Must have a “can do” attitude and have conscientious with great attention to detail. A team player is a must.
