This position will assist the Campus Safety Officer in the development of accident prevention strategies and root cause analysis; perform job safety analysis and hazard assessments; and support health and safety education training programs and keep abreast of current trends through professional publications. The Occupational Safety Coordinator will manage, maintain and use safety monitoring equipment and instrumentation. This position will assist with chemical exposure and In-door Air Quality assessments.Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.Minimum Qualifications: Please ensure that all relevant application materials include details addressing the minimum qualifications. The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in physics, chemistry, biology, or a related field

At least two years of experience in occupational health and safety or a related field

At least three years of experience administering institutional occupational safety regulations and providing safety program oversight

Knowledge of employee occupational health requirements, environmental protection requirements, and worker industrial hygiene

Knowledge of hazardous waste management techniques

Knowledge of use and storage requirements of hazardous materials

Knowledge of facility construction and test instruments for monitoring work areas

Ability to direct industrial hygiene surveys

Ability to develop safety programs

Ability to manage handling and disposal of hazardous materials
