Type: Fulltime (40 hours / week) contract Length: 6+ months (potential to become perm) Pay: 20.60/ HR Shift/Hours: 8A - 5P (with some flex if needed) Responsibilities for this Payroll Services Specialist job include, but are not limited to: Overpayments

Work all incoming overpayment tickets on a timely basis as defined in Standard Work and PMP

Verify overpayment calculations submitted my employees, managers, HR, and payroll

Create and verify gross and net amounts of overpayments including tax, benefit, and other deductions for each check an overpayment has occurred

Correspond with employees receiving overpayments in order to set up repayment plans, by letter (primary), phone or email as needed

Set up PeopleSoft to make payroll deductions with applicable

Receive and process with Accounts Payable/Finance any personal checks for repayments

Send termed employees to collections per overpayment policy

Keep accurate up to date overpayment log for tracking and compliance purposes

Manage the dispute process for overpayments with the assistance of employee HR, Manager and Payroll Services manager

May have contact with Ingersoll Rand Legal team at times

Follow Overpayment Policy parameters and standard work

Escheatment

Work outstanding check list provided by Corporate Finance on a Quarterly basis

Extract necessary information from PeopleSoft system in order to identify employees with outstanding checks and their indicative data

Research PeopleSoft and Banking records to ensure the payment is due the employee

Communicate with employee by letter (primary), email, phone as needed to determine if reissue of funds are needed or if escheatment to state is required

Keep accurate up to date escheatment log for tracking and compliance purposes

Work escheatment tickets on a timely basis as defined in standard work and PMP

Submit PAF for requested reissue of funds to Payroll Processing team, and ensure payment is made

Notify Corporate Finance of all reissued funds on a monthly basis

Notify Corporate Finance of all escheatable funds as requested per escheatment log research

Follow Unclaimed Property Policy and standard work

Qualifications for this Payroll Services Specialist job:

High School Graduate, Associates degree or college courses a plus

Minimum of 2 years of HR/Payroll or administrative experience

Experience with HR systems, PeopleSoft required

Knowledge of Human Resources operations and policies preferred

High level MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) skills are required

Must be able to identify root cause and provide solutions to prevent reoccurrence

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Analysis and problem-solving skills a plus

Must have strong quantitative and qualitative skills; detail-oriented with ability to see the big picture and to work effectively at both high and detailed levels

Effective team player with a strong team spirit, people skills, enthusiasm and premium customer service skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Communicates effectively with others and demonstrates good listening skills

Resolves conflicts and negotiates with others in respectful manner
