Position DescriptionThis position is responsible for managing the front end software development for Banking, Auto, Mortgage and other lines of Business.Prior hands on experience managing front end applications using cutting edge front end technologies for the Web is a must. Extensive experience using frameworks such as Ember / Angular and single page architecture required.The ideal candidate should be passionate about user experience, great design, continuous improvement and incremental delivery methods. Has experience leading and mentoring a team of UI developers, developing streamlined processes and should embrace our values, passion, accountability and collaboration.This position will have direct reports as well as responsibilities of managing vendor resources. This individual must be able to review and evaluate the performance of Development Managers and Developers; ultimately accountable for Application platform(s), project deliverables, resource allocations, assignments, budgets, and the overall quality of the final product; works with various technology partners to define and drive strategic solutions.Job Responsibilities
Partner with the Business, UX design and back end API teams to create world-class customer servicing experiences for the Online channel.
Have full accountability for the development and execution of UI focused projects.
Manage a team of UI development FTEs and Contractors (Onshore and Offshore) to support the development of Ally Online Servicing channel.
Mentor developers who are highly skilled and passionate about UI and customer experience.
Establish streamlined processes and leverage automation tools to create high quality products and deliver projects with speed and agility.
Own and enforce secure coding standards through peer code reviews and automation
Accountable to the Head to Development for application ownership, L3 support and to plan and execute a portfolio of IT projects
Guide development teams to review business requirements, mid-level design documents and develop low level design documents, test plans/test cases and performance testing plans
Effectively communicate technical solutions and recommendations to senior level management and Business experience with traditional Waterfall and Agile development methodologies
Qualifications
BS and 7 + years of experience or equivalent
Experience developing UI systems using APIs
Expertise in UI technologies such as Javascript, Ember, AngularJS, JQuery, HTML5, CSS and JSP
Strong background in Web/eCommerce, Banking and Digital transformations
Proven ability to multi-task, manage application platforms and several concurrent projects
Experience with Development methodologies and tools, resource planning, and forecasting
